St. John's Pride Parade 2025

It started off as a beautiful day arriving to the annual St. John's Pride Parade. Streets were shut down for the parade, I brought my camera and skateboard, volunteering to photograph the colorful diverse event.

The temp was 28 degrees, it was noon, the sun was hot, I was sweating! Pushing around capturing all celebrations and empowerement on uniqueness and individuality.

I unfortunately suffered heat exhaustion and heat stroke at the last destination, Bannerman Park. I thank the people at Overdose Awareness & Response St. John's (OARS), and the St John's Ambulance for taking care of me. I was about to pass out and they helped me out with water, ice, and vital signs checked.

A 51 year old skateboarding in 28 degrees for 2 hours, taking photos. And no wonder I'm home with a sunburn and everything aching.

Happy Pride!
