I had a chance to stay at a cute little house in Keels from my coworker Cecilia. Thank you Cecilia! It was a solo mission to stay there one day and roam around to take photos.

The movie ‘Maudie’ was filmed here, Look for the devil’s footprints engraved in the rock.

Lots of nice people who are so approachable to have conversations with. A family from Philly bought an old church there and converted it into a summer home.

It was quite, and not much went on, but the scenery and beauty was something to see with eyes.

Honda Civic, Type-R

I visited City Honda yesterday after work before picking up my kids, hearing there was a special car that came in as one of the first of North America. A Honda Civic Type R.

Honestly, I don’t know much about cars. But there is beauty that I see in them. I heard stories about this particular car and asked if I can check it out with real eyes. Very impressive! I knew I shouldn’t fall in love. I drive a VW! But any car is appreciative and I’m not taking sides!

Whether the look that is the attraction, the power, or the technology, could it be how it closely it is to our perception of the future, spaceships, transformers, not sure… Maybe it’s just midlife crisis.

Cape St. Francis, Pouch Cove

July 17, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Into the second day, waiting to see if it would be clear to see the stars at night. A few postings online of an aurora display that was happening this week in our area had me interested in finding a location with hardly any light pollution.

I was told that Cape St. Francis was a great spot. On our way there, in a friend’s SUV, there were  rough roads and it was a good distance, Edgars and I darted up there at 11:00pm to get ready. We chatted about sci fi and Alien movies.

The Aurora faced around north east. Could not be seen with the naked eye, long exposure on our cameras would pick the beautiful site up. There were people that drove all the way out there to watch with just the naked eye, no cameras - a few disappointed. We relieved them by showing what our cameras were capturing, through the LCD screen.  It was windy and a little cold, things were a little rushed, we got our photos and headed home before 1, where both of us had to work in the early morning
