Filipino Debut

"The debut is a traditional Filipino coming-of-age celebration which celebrates a young woman's 18th birthday, the age of maturity in the Philippines."

My family in Edmonton invited me to their daughter, Carmina's 18th birthday debut celebration. The last time I saw Jay Pee and family was back in 2004 when he married Margie. I met my uncle, Tito Pabling, My dad's younger brother and last living Perez Sibling in that generation.

I got a chance to meet the kids, Carmina and Celisse, and a few of my cousins (Jessica, Jordan, Jericho, and Jay Pee) that I haven't seen in 20 years.

I was there for only three days. The first day was a full day of photoshoots with Carmina. We went to this freeway underpass that was built for wildlife to cross. Another location was a railroad track and bridge.

The next night was the debut celebration. Many performances by Carmina and her friends, dancing, music, speeches, crying and laughing. The night was filled with family and friends. Everyone had a great time!
