A Quick Trip to Paradise

Finding out there was an all ages show in Paradise, NL that morning was a pleasure to hear. We were just getting back from the Signal Hill hike and a group of cool teens said 'hello' across the street. I asked if there was a show today. They yelled back and said 'Yes', in Paradise, as one them accidently walked into a street pole as they were turned towards me.

I ended up committing to this for the evening. I hardly go out but it was always good to head out and see some cool bands rip it up!

I think I met the headliners on our Signal Hill hike. I saw a group of guys crossing paths, and told them a 'Good luck on those stairs' as they were heading up the stairs of death, as we were heading the opposite. I said to Shauna, " I bet you that's a visiting band. They looked like a band.' Turns out it was Botfly.

Arriving at The Holy Innocents Anglican Church, it was a nice open space. postters of safe space and religious content on the walls. Half the room was filled with people of all ages, mostly kids, As usual, I felt like I was the oldest one, and probably was. But that's it!

Sadly, I missed Botfly play. I had to go home and get supper before the Diabetus lows would hit. I did talk to a few of band members, about their amps and their tour. What a great bunch.

The local bands I did see were high energy, punk rock, and heavy. Brought me back to the Riverdale all ages shows during the early 2000s.

The kids are going to be alright!
